Men's Track and Field Posts Multiple All-Time Marks in First Weekend of Indoor Competition

OSHKOSH, Wis. – The Loras College men's track and field team opened its indoor season across three meets this weekend, with sprinters and jumpers competing at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh (UW–Oshkosh), throwers at the University of Dubuque (UD), and a group of distance runners racing at St. Ambrose University (SAU).

Isaac Bourne headlined the weekend for the Duhawks, breaking the school record in the 5,000-meter run at SAU. He placed sixth in 14:28.96. Eric Rutherford followed with a ninth-place finish in 14:44.07, the sixth-fastest time in program history.

At UD, DreAnthony Jackson won the weight throw with a mark of 18.02 meters, the third-best performance in school history. Carter Allen added a top-six all-time mark of his own, placing third with a throw of 17.18 meters. In the shot put, Eli Pflipsen placed third with a toss of 16.05 meters, the sixth-best mark in program history and a lifetime personal best both indoor and outdoor.

At UW–Oshkosh, Casey Tath won the 60-meter dash in 6.97 seconds. Freshman Tre'jon Igess made a strong debut in the triple jump, placing third with a leap of 13.64 meters, eighth all-time at Loras. Ahmari Meeks-Miller followed in fourth with a lifetime best of 13.62 meters, a 22-centimeter improvement, moving him to ninth all-time. Liam Kelso added an indoor personal best in the long jump with a mark of 6.33 meters, finishing 10th.

Up next: Loras travels to Davenport, Iowa, on Saturday, Jan. 17, for the Bumble Rumble hosted by SAU.
