KENOSHA, Wis. – The second-seeded Loras College men's volleyball team fell in straight sets to the No. 1 seed, Carthage College, in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament Championship on Saturday afternoon inside Tarble Arena.
Carthage (22-3, 9-1 CCIW) narrowly defeated the Duhawks in consecutive sets by scores of 25-22, 25-22 and 26-24.
Corey Mayotte put down a match-high 18 kills, while also adding two service aces and 10 digs to his stat line as well.
Evan Dziadkowiec handed out 31 assists, while
Aidan Peloquin registered 14 digs. As a team, Loras (18-5, 8-2) hit .186, finishing with 44 kills and 22 errors in 118 attempts.
Ben Heise, Owen Hendricks and Owen Otto led the Firebirds offense with 12, 11 and 10 kills respectively, while Ryan Morey dished out 32 assists and totaled a team-high 12 digs. Carthage hit .303, which included 41 kills and eight errors in 109 attempts.
The Duhawks conclude their 2025 season with an 18-5 overall record and an 8-2 mark in CCIW play. Five student-athletes garnered All-Conference honors, with Mayotte and Dziadkowiec earning Offensive and First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year respectively.
