INDIANOLA, Iowa — The Loras College men's track and field team competed at the Kip Janvrin Open, hosted by Simpson College, with events spanning Thursday and Friday at Buxton Stadium.
 
Julian Watson opened competition Thursday night with a first-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, clocking a time of 9:30.59. Jacob Belha also turned in a strong performance, placing fifth in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:54.86.
 
On Friday, the 4x100-meter relay team of Derik Bunten, Casey Tath, Ian Fagan, and Dayvion Foreman headlined the day by breaking the meet record with a first-place time of 41.51 seconds.
 
In the 400-meter dash, Carson Vaske placed 15th with a time of 50.87. Carson Hendrey and Michael Gadberry wrapped up the meet in the 800-meter run, finishing 26th (1:57.23) and 49th (1:59.22), respectively.
