Henning Headlines Softball All-Conference Honorees

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Three freshmen of the Loras College softball program were named to All-American Rivers Conference teams as released by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Kaili Henning garnered Rookie of the Year honors following her first season with Loras, in addition to earning a spot on the All-Conference Second Team. The Fort Dodge, Iowa native, posted a 2.91 ERA in 14 starts for the Purple and Gold. She finished the year with 10 wins and 84 strikeouts to lead all freshmen. At the plate, Henning posted a .363 batting average, which featured 20 RBIs and 37 hits.
 
Dana Skorich was recognized for her play this season by earning Second Team All-Conference honors as well. The Crystal Lake, Ill. native ranked second on the team in batting average (.364) and hits (39). Skorich concluded her freshman year with a team-high six home runs, which ranked top 10 in the conference.
 
Kiya Steger finished her freshman campaign by also earning a spot on the All-Conference Second Team. Steger finished the year with a 2.55 ERA in the circle, that included 44 strikeouts and seven wins. At the plate, the Dyersville, Iowa native posted a .310 batting average with 36 hits and 24 RBIs. Steger also totaled three home runs, which ranked second on the team.
 
The Duhawks finished the season with a 22-15 overall record and a 9-7 conference record, ending the year in the first round of the conference tournament.
