Men's and Women's Track and Field Programs Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams, 14 Student-Athletes Earn Individual Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. — The Loras College men's and women's track and field teams were recognized as USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams for the 2024–25 indoor and outdoor seasons, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Monday.

The men's team recorded a cumulative GPA of 3.21, while the women posted a 3.33.

14 student-athletes were also named USTFCCCA Division III All-Academic Athletes. Representing the men's team came by way of Carter Allen, Jacob Belha, Frank Day, Elliot Frideres, Matt Kruse, Ted Kruse, Ian Lucas and Carson Vaske. On the women's side, Frankie Chaidez, Taylor Flaig, Ivy Glendening, Sara Hoskins, Layla Hughes and Emma Seipel received the honor.

The criteria for being named a USTFCCCA Division III Track & Field All-Academic Team is as follows: 
  • Cumulative team GPA of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility must be at least a 3.1 on a 4.0 scale through the most recent semester/quarter. 
 
The criteria for being named a USTFCCCA Division III Track & Field All-Academic Athlete are as follows: 
  • Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale through the most recently completed grading period. Data must be certifiable by the institution's registrar. 
 
Athletic criteria for All-Academic Athlete:
  • Must have finished the indoor season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 50, but who participated at the Indoor or Outdoor National Championships, are eligible. 
  • Must have competed as a member of one of the top 35 relay teams as listed on the indoor descending order list on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 35 relay teams, but who participated in the relay at the Indoor or Outdoor National Championships, are eligible. Finally, any competing relay team member on an expanded descending order list to include 35 institutions (1 relay team per institution) is eligible.
