LINCOLN, Neb. - The Loras College men's basketball team fell to Nebraska Wesleyan University, 82–74, on Saturday afternoon inside Snyder Arena.

Loras (13-4, 7-1 A-R-C) trailed for the first six minutes of play before a three-pointer from Jack Haynes put the Duhawks in front, 15-13. The Purple and Gold extended their lead to as many as eight multiple times over the course of the opening half and held a 44-39 advantage over the home team heading into the break.

The second half saw five ties, but it was Nebraska Wesleyan (11-5, 6-1) who broke the final one at 57-57 with a three-pointer from Christian Winn. From that point on, it was all Prairie Wolves with Nebraska Wesleyan using a 15-3 run to hold its largest lead of the game (72-60) with 6:43 left to play. The Duhawks cut the deficit to four, 78-74, with 1:02 remaining, but the Prairie Wolves made the most of their time at the foul line, going 4-of-4 to close out the contest.

Haynes was 3-of-4 from three and led the Duhawks in points and rebounds with 17 and 10 respectively.  Nolan Berendes followed closely behind with 15 points, while Gavin Sarvis finished with 13 points and a game-high six assists. Loras shot 50.8 percent (30-of-59) from the floor and 50 percent (4-of-80) from the charity stripe.

Nebraska Wesleyan's Jared Townsley led his team with 20 points. Nick Howard and Winn rounded out the double-digit scorers for the Prairie Wolves with 14 and 13 points respectively, while Seth Newton and Devin Holmon dished out five assists apiece in the win. The home team shot 47.4 percent (27-of-57) from the field and 76.9 percent (20-of-26) from the free throw line.
