DUBUQUE, Iowa - The No. 5 Loras College men's wrestling team celebrated Senior Night in dominant fashion on Thursday, defeating No. 9 Central College, 30-14.
The Duhawks won six of the 10 bouts and collected key bonus points throughout the night. Seniors
Eric Kinkaid (157 lbs) and
Dustin Bohren (174 lbs) each delivered memorable performances to help lead Loras to victory.
Loras opened the dual strong at 125 lbs as
Aidan Gruenenfelder earned a 23-8 tech fall.
Connor Fiser kept the momentum going at 133 lbs with a 13-4 major decision, giving the Duhawks an early advantage.
Central responded with wins at 141 and 149 lbs, but Kinkaid controlled his match from the start, securing a 19-4 tech fall to energize the home crowd.
After a narrow decision for the Dutch at 165 lbs, Bohren delivered the highlight of the night, recording a fall at 2:06 to extend the Duhawks' lead.
Landry Barker followed at 184 lbs with another bonus-point win, posting a 19-4 tech fall.
Central added a decision at 197 lbs, but
Jonah Clark closed the dual in emphatic fashion at heavyweight, earning a 19-3 tech fall to seal the 30-14 team victory.
