WAVERLY, Iowa – The Loras College women's basketball team fell to the Wartburg College Knights, 60-43, on Saturday afternoon inside Levick Arena.
Kylie Rigby gave Loras (7-13 overall, 3-8 American Rivers Conference) a 3-2 lead with a three-pointer on the team's second possession of the game. Wartburg (14-6, 10-1) regained the lead a minute later with a three from Lauren Donlea and never looked back.
The Duhawks cut the lead to six (19-13) after an
Emma Thompson layup early in the second quarter, but the Knights went on to outscore Loras by 10 the remainder of the quarter and never let the lead get under single digits for the remainder of the contest.
Claire Wagner led the Purple and Gold with 10 points.
Kiah Davis added seven points, while Thompson finished with six.
The Knights were led by Katie Boulanger who had a game-high 19 points. Lauren Golinghorst added 13 for Wartburg.
Up Next: Loras will return to Lillis Court on Wednesday, Feb. 4 to take on Central College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
