DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College men's basketball team picked up an 85-76 win over Coe College to remain undefeated in American Rivers Conference play on Saturday afternoon inside the Lillis Athletic and Wellness Center.
Despite the Duhawks holding an early 10-3 lead, Coe (9-4, 1-3 A-R-C) led 35-34 at the end of the first half. The Kohawks increased their lead to six (42-36) with 17:49 remaining in the contest, but the Purple and Gold used a 7-0 run to regain the lead. Loras (10-3, 4-0) outscored the visitors 42-34 over the final 15:31 to earn its first win of 2026.
Coe was led by Jackson Bowman who totaled 21 points on the night. Cooper Nailor added in 13 points to go along with a game-high seven assists, while Zach Strauss and Ryan Dolphin chipped in 11 points apiece in the loss. The Kohawks shot 50 percent (29-of-58) from the floor and 84.6 percent (11-of-13) from the foul line.
Gavin Sarvis paced Loras with 31 points, shooting 11-of-16 from the floor and a perfect 3-of-3 from behind the arc.
Jack Haynes and
Nolan Berendes pulled down six rebounds apiece, while finishing with 22 and nine points respectively. The Duhawks shot 47 percent (31-of-66) from the field and 81.8 percent (18-of-22) from the charity stripe.
