DUBUQUE, Iowa – Former Loras College women's basketball standout Kaitlin Phillips will be inducted into the Loras College Athletics Hall of Fame as a part of the Class of 2026. She will be honored alongside four other inductees during the ceremony on Friday, Oct. 9 inside the Alumni Campus Center ballroom.
"I am incredibly honored and humbled to be inducted into the Loras College Athletic Hall of Fame." Phillips said. "Loras was more than a place where I played basketball. It was a place that challenged me, shaped me, and introduced me to people who would have a lasting impact on my life. I'll never forget the energy of a packed A-W-C during a conference tournament game or the countless early mornings when our team gathered before dawn to grind through a 6:00 a.m. practice together. Those moments truly taught me the value of hard work, community, and being part of something bigger than myself."
The three-year team captain finished her Duhawk career ranking inside the top ten in most statistical categories. She is ninth all-time in scoring with 1,062 points,
fourth in assists with 303, 10
th in made threes with 78, and ninth in single season assists.
Phillips was a three-time IIAC All-Academic team member, COSIDA Academic All-District in 2016, a three-time IIAC First Team All-Conference selection, and participated in two Division III NCAA Tournaments. She was also named to the All-State WBCA Good Works Team, and was the only female Division III athlete named to the ten-person team. Phillips graduated as part of the winningest class in program history at the time, going 67-41 over her four seasons.
"While I am grateful for the accomplishments and success we had along the way, what means the most to me are the relationships that came from them." Phillips added. "The friendships I built with my teammates, the guidance and belief of my coaches, and the support of the entire Loras community helped make me the person I am today. I am also incredibly thankful for the unwavering support of my family and friends throughout my journey. In particular, my parents, who made countless sacrifices, spent endless hours driving across the state of Iowa to attend my games, and supported me through every high and low along the way. There is no doubt that I would not be receiving this honor if not for their love, encouragement, and belief in me."
After her graduation from Loras, Phillips attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Law School, graduating in 2019. She now lives in Forest Park, Ill. with her husband Adam, and their two-year old daughter Audrey, and their dog, Moose. Phillips currently works as a Labor and Employment attorney in downtown Chicago.
