DECORAH, Iowa – The Loras College men's and women's swimming and diving teams concluded their 2025-26 seasons at the American Rivers Championships hosted by Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
The men finished in third place with 295 points, while the women finished in fourth place with 195 points.
On the men's side.
Owen Leitzen capped off an impressive freshman season earning A-R-C Rookie of the Year honors after earning All-Conference in the 50-yard freestyle (20.26), 100-yard freestyle (44.52), and 100-yard butterfly (49.96). He now holds the team record in the 100-yard butterfly and ranks second all-time in school history in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle. He also earned the NCAA B cut in the two freestyles and now holds the meet record in those events as well. Leitzen now also holds the pool record in the 100-yard freestyle as well.
Caden Gillmore ended his career in the Purple and Gold on a high note. The senior earned All-Conference in the 500-yard freestyle (4:39.82), 200-yard freestyle (1:43.11), and 200-yard butterfly (1:56.98). He now ranks second all-time in school history in the 500-yard freestyle and now holds the meet record in that event as well.
The men's relay team of Leitzen,
Hudson Otis, Gillmore, and
Gabriel Ibanez also found success this week. The group earned All-Conference in the 200, 400, and 800-yard freestyle relays with times of 1:26.18 (200), 3:10.93 (400), and 7:06.33 (800). The 800-yard relay time ranks second now all-time in school history.
On the women's side,
Maria Eide earned All-Conference in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:12.72.
