DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Loras College men's wrestling team turned in a dominant showing Thursday night, rolling past the University of Dubuque, 44-3.
The Duhawks jumped out to an early lead as
Eric Kinkaid opened the dual with authority at 157 lbs, earning a 16-1 tech fall. Dubuque picked up its only points of the night at 165 lbs to make the score 5-3.
Loras quickly regained full control at 174 lbs, as
Dustin Bohren pinned his opponent at the 6:00 mark. The momentum continued through the upper weights with
Landry Barker earning an 11-7 decision at 184 lbs, followed by
Kam Royster's 17-2 tech fall at 197 lbs.
At heavyweight,
Jonah Clark capped the opening stretch with an 11-3 major decision, extending the Duhawk lead heading into the lighter weights.
The lower half of the lineup only added to the dominance. At 125 lbs,
Aidan Gruenenfelder secured a quick fall in just 2:39.
Connor Fiser followed with a commanding 20-5 tech fall at 133 lbs, and
Nosa Egbon added another bonus-point victory at 141 lbs with a 19-3 tech fall.
Chase Fiser closed the night at 149 lbs, earning the win via disqualification due to excessive stall calls, to seal the 44-3 victory for the Duhawks.
Up Next: Loras will close out its regular season against rival Wartburg College on Thursday, Feb. 12 for Alumni Night. Wrestling is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
