UW-Superior responded to take a 3-2 lead in the top of the third inning thanks to a home run from Larissa Snyder, and a RBI base hit from Kylie Zwak. The Duhawks got one of the runs back to tie the game in the bottom of the third after taking advantage of a Yellow Jacket error.
The Duhawk offense carried momentum through consecutive innings, plating three more in the fourth inning. Henning continued her hot day at the plate with a bases clearing double that scored Franklin, who reached on a base hit, and Svigelj, who also reached on a base hit.
Dana Skorich ended the inning with a RBI double that allowed Henning to cross home plate.
UW-Superior was able to tie the game at six thanks to a two RBI base hit off the bat of Karen Balabon.
Both teams would score two more runs, and head into extra innings tied at eight.
Rachel Peat sent the Yellow Jackets down in order in the top of the eighth to set up the bottom half of the frame. There, Baker was able to reach third on a wild pitch after being placed on second to start the inning. After two intentional walks to load the bases, Skorich came through with a SAC fly to walk off UW-Superior.
