DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College women's soccer team used a dominant offensive performance to defeat Concordia University Wisconsin, 5-1, inside the Rock Bowl.
Emerson Gasmann opened the scoring in the 10th minute, finding the back of the net off assists from
Bella Scesniak and Gracie Gassmann to put Loras ahead 1-0. Just 74 seconds later, Emerson and connected with her sister
Gracie Gasmann, who doubled the advantage with her first goal of the evening.
Concordia Wisconsin quickly answered as Jacey Read scored minutes later to cut the Duhawk lead to 2-1.
Loras responded in the 18th minute with
Chiara DiVito scoring her first goal of the season off Scesniak's third assist of the match, restoring the two-goal advantage and sending the Duhawks into halftime leading 3-1.
The Duhawks continued to pressure the Falcons after the break, recording 20 shots in the second half alone.
Gracie Gasmann struck again in the 58th minute for her second goal of the match, extending the Loras lead to 4-1. Emerson then added her second of the night in the 78th minute to close out the scoring at 5-1.
Loras controlled the attack throughout the match, finishing with a 35-3 advantage in shots and putting 13 attempts on goal. The Duhawks also generated 15 corner kicks while holding the Falcons to just one.

Hannah Fedinec played all 90 minutes, making one save and allowing just one goal as the Duhawks limited Concordia Wisconsin to three total shots.
Up Next: The Duhawks return to the rock bowl on Saturday, Sept. 12 for the annual Somos Duhawks game. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
