Keegan Jones

Keegan Jones joins the football staff at Loras for his first season in 2015 after spending the previous four seasons as an assistant coach at University of New York at Buffalo.

A former collegiate quarterback and tight end, Jones played four seasons at Division III Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois. While a student-athlete, Jones also was an assistant coach for men’s and women’s basketball.

Following his athletic career, Jones immediately transitioned onto the coaching staff at Monmouth, working with the quarterbacks and wide receivers during the spring of 2010.

Upon graduation from Monmouth College in the spring of 2010 with a degree in business administration, Jones was hired as a graduate assistant coach at Division II East Stroudsburg University in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. There, he worked directly with the defensive backs. Under his coaching, two defensive backs received All-Conference honors.

After one season with the Warriors, Jones was brought on the staff at Buffalo. During his four seasons, he worked with the quarterbacks and tight ends.

Jones graduated from East Stroudsburg in May of 2012 with a master’s degree in sport management.

After going 4-8 in 2012, Buffalo finished the 2013 season 8-5 and earned a trip to the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. The eight wins was a program record in the FBS era.

In his final season at Buffalo, Jones worked directly with the tight ends helped the Bulls to four top-four rankings in the Mid-American Conference in scoring offense (3rd-32.3 ppg), rushing offense (3rd-178.6 ypg), passing offense (4th-259.5 ypg) and total offense (4th-438.2 ypg). In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Jones also oversaw the community outreach program and was directly involved with the team’s social media efforts.

Originally from Knoxville, Illinois, Jones resides in Dubuque.
