Emily Goetz

Emily Goetz has been with the Duhawk lacrosse program since April 2012 and led them in their inaugural season in 2013. This historic year boasted many memorable moments including the programs first win.

In 2014, Goetz led the Duhawks in their first Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) appearance where the team quickly turned heads. Two members of this young squad earned conference recognition with a 2nd Team All-Conference Award and All-Sportsmanship award.

Goetz’s lacrosse experience began at the University of Redlands, located in Redlands, California, where she played four years as a midfield starter for the Bulldogs. She spent two seasons as a co-captain and earned team recognition for Most Dedication and MVP Attack. In her junior year, she tried out and played for the Southwest National Team as an attacker.

After graduating in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in psychology and minor in physical education, Goetz spent the next seven years as a competitor, coach and team director for the No. 1 snowboard team in the midwest. She won a USASA National Title in slopestyle in 2006 and was ranked 4th in the nation for boardercross.

Goetz went on to pursue coaching lacrosse and became an assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Carthage College, located in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in 2009. She helped build the first-ever lacrosse program at Carthage and also received her Master’s in Education degree in Counseling, May 2011.

A native of Thousand Oaks, California, Goetz now resides in Dubuque.
