Loras College Athletics

Dr. Arthur Sunleaf currently serves as the Vice President for Student Development/Dean of Students at Loras College. He tenure at Loras began as the Director of Student Life on January 4, 2000. While at Loras, he has served as a co-instructor for Modes of Inquiry (first-year student seminar), interim Director of Campus Safety and Security and Associate Vice President for Student Development. He was promoted to Dean of Students in 2005 and named Vice President for Student Development in 2011. Sunleaf earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations from Wartburg College, his Master of Arts degree in College and University Administration from Michigan State University and his Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership from Edgewood College. 
 
As Loras College’s Vice President for Student Development, Sunleaf oversees Campus Dining, Campus Safety, Counseling, Health and Wellness, Intercollegiate Athletics, Intercultural Programs, Residence Life, Scheduling and Events and Student Life. 
 
Sunleaf is also involved in his community. He has served on the City of Dubuque’s Environmental Stewardship committee and coached AYSO soccer for many years. He has also served as treasurer for the Iowa Student Personnel Association. Sunleaf currently serves on the Board of Directors for Camp Albrecht Acres in Sherrill. He is a member of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators and the Association for Student Affairs at Catholic Colleges and Universities.  
 
Art and his wife Amy are the parents of three daughters and reside in Dubuque.
