Loras College Athletics

Coach Ryan Thrawl joins the Duhawks for his first season. Thrawl brings experience coaching at the high school baseball level and playing collegiately. He played at the DIII level at Elmhurst University, before transferring to Oklahoma State where he coached and was the director of hockey operations with the Oklahoma State hockey team. At Elmhurst he played in 65 games with 65 hits while hitting .293. In his 2 years with the Hockey team he helped change the tide for the program, with film and scouting analysis swinging the team from a six -win season to them reaching the ACHA D2 National Final in 2026.

After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in sport management and marketing, Thrawl spent the 2026 Summer coaching at Slammers Training Academy.

At Loras, Thrawl will be the head JV coach, with also working with the varsity staff. His knowledge in Trackman, film editing and other development tools has proved his value to the coaching staff.
