Coach Shane Geurink joins the Duhawks in 2025-2026 as a 3rd full-time coach, bringing experience across many levels of baseball. Shane played and coached at the NAIA level before coaching in the American Rivers Conference and at the Iowa highschool level. In 4 Seasons at Northwestern College Geurink experienced various roles in the bullpen, highlighted by finishing 5th in conference in saves during his freshman year. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management – Leadership and Sports Management – Business, along with a minor in Business Administration, and a coaching certification, Geurink joined the coaching staff at his alma mater for a season before joining the A-R-C as a pitching coach at Simpson college. With the Storm, coach Geurink help the pitching staff finish in the top half of the conference in nearly every pitching category, including finishing 3rd in the conference in strikeouts with 333.
At Loras, Geurink will be the head JV coach along with working with the varsity pitching staff. His knowledge and experience as a data analyst working with Flightscope, Synergy, amongst other development focused tools has already proved invaluable in his time with the Duhawk pitching staff.
Shane plans to complete his masters in Applied Analytics and Coaching Leadership at Loras, and isn't the only coach in the family, as his wife, Taylor, coaches volleyball.
