Loras College Athletics

This past weekend at the NCAA Wrestling Championships, Patron Jr. earned the highest finish by a freshman in Loras history, as the Harvey, La. native clinched All-American honors and a third-place finish. After falling in his first bout of the tournament, Patron Jr. climbed his way back in the consolation bracket to clinch a podium finish in his championship debut. On Saturday, the Jesuit prep defeated No. 2 Kyle Frank  of Wartburg in the consolation semifinal and advanced to the final where he defeated Brockport's Tristan Engle, 9-2.
