On Saturday, Mikel jumped out to a great start in the freshman's first outdoor track and field season after earning two first place finishes and a second place finish at the Augustana Early Spring Opener. The Lombard, Ill. native joined a quartet of freshman to take second place in the 4x100 with a time of 43.36. In his second relay of the day, Mikel anchored the 4x400 relay to a first place finish with a time of 3:19.13. In the freshman's only individual race of the day, Mikel won the men's 400 with a time of 48.81, which ranks seventh all-time in Loras history and fifth in Division III.
