A NEW CAREER HIGH ...
Sophomore linebacker
Calvin Harridge set a career high last weekend against Coe, totaling 18 tackles on the afternoon. Along with that, Harridge also had two tackles for a loss, and a sack in the Duhawks loss. Through the first four games of the season he leads the Loras defense with 42 tackles, with 27 being solo hits. Junior
JP Awe comes in second with 29 tackles on the year. In 2013 Harridge led the Duhawks with 86 total tackles on the year, with 64 being solo stops.
PROTECTING THE QUARTERBACK ...
In freshman
Robert Kelly's first career start against Coe he was able to have plenty of time throughout the afternoon to throw to his receivers. The credit for that feat can be given to the big men of front, the offensive line. Juniors
David Roche,
Ryan Rolfes,
Brendan Rosner, and sophomores
Joe Pagura and
Mike Maligranda gave Kelly plenty of time to throw against Coe. The Kohawk defense only managed one sack on the afternoon. Through the first four games, the Duhawks have averaged nearly 50 passes per game and only given up eight sack. That protection up front will be the key to having a successful passing attack.
