A RECORD BREAKING DEBUT ...Duhawk freshman
Maurice Young had quite the collegiate debut on Saturday afternoon by tying the school record with three interceptions in one game. The record tied Mike Heiberger in 2000 and Terry Breitbach in 1980. The young cornerback also collected a pair of tackles on the afternoon. In all, the Duhawk defense forced Elmhurst to commit seven turnovers en route to their first victory of the season. In their opening game, Wisconsin-Stout turned the ball over three times, all by way of interception.
PASSING GAME PACES IMPROVED OFFENSE ...Even after just one game, senior quarterback
Dylan Jones has helped showcase the improved Duhawk passing attack. Last season, Jones passed for 641 yards, and has already thrown for 285 yards just one week into the 2014 season. This shows that in just one game Jones has already accounted for 44 percent of his 2013 passing total. The Duhawks averaged over 11 yards per completion against Elmhurst.
