NORTHFIELD, Minn. (Duhawks.com) – Early goals by Loras put the game out of reach from the start as they cruised to a 3-nil victory over St. Olaf on Saturday, September 13. Freshman
Maura Walsh netted her third game-winner of the year in the 21' to spring the Duhawks to the road victory.
Coming off a disappointing 3-1 defeat in midweek play to Carthage, Loras hoped that a change of scenery would help them get back on winning terms. Walsh made sure of that, finishing the setup from junior
Claire Murphy for the first goal of the match in the 21'.
In the 37', Loras doubled their lead after sophomore
Madie Avery delivered a corner into the penalty area. On the volley, sophomore
Hanna Burgmeier slotted home the winner, making it 2-nil Loras.
Senior goalkeeper
Hannah Wilson was on point all day, stopping everything St. Olaf sent her way. Wilson finished with eight saves on the day.
Junior
Katie Truesdale tallied her fourth of the year in the 51', blasting her shot from 35 yards out into the upper 90 to cap the scoring for Loras and move them to 4-3-0 on the year.
The Duhawks wrap up their road trip on Sunday when they kickoff against College of Saint Benedict at 12 p.m.
