DUHAWKS HUNGRY FOR FIRST CONFERENCE WIN …Despite taking an early match lead, the Duhawks remained winless after falling to Wartburg 3-1. Week six poses another opportunity for the Duhawks to record their first Iowa Conference win as they face off against Coe College to start the week. Coe, like Loras, finished the NACC-IIAC Crossover Challenge 3-1 this past weekend.
TOTAL TEAM EFFORT KEY TO WEEKEND SUCCESS …Loras' successful weekend was fueled by their balanced play. On the attack, junior
Taylor Serrano led the Duhawks to a tournament-best .305 hitting percentage. Sophomore
Jenna Erickson and junior
Kara Kentner split setting duties, with Erickson recording 84 assists while Kentner added 74. Freshman libero
Haley Bergan, senior
Courtney Boyd, and sophomore
Brittany Lijewski held down the back row for Loras. Bergan recorded a team-best 90 digs over the weekend while Lijewski tallied a career-high 12 against Dominican. Together, the trio helped the Duahwks record a season-best 99 digs in their win over the Stars.
