DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - A loaded week pits the Loras women's soccer teams against two teams near the top of the table in the Iowa Conference in Coe and Luther.

SCOUTING THE KOHAWKS •••
The Kohawks will come to the Rock Bowl on Wednesday in much different form than the past. At 11-1-1, Coe has experienced a new breath of life under third-year head coach, Scott Myers. Entering Wednesday, the Kohawks have conceded just eight goals on the year while scoring 34. Three players have five goals with Kelsey Fauser leading the point race with 13 (5G-3A). In goal, MJ Winterer owns a .911 save percentage and a 0.59 goals against average.

LAST TIME OUT AGAINST COE •••
In the 2014 regular season finale, Loras handed Coe an 8-2 decision, capping the Duhawks' 11-7 campaign. Katie Truesdale recorded a hat-trick, while Tori Ochs contributed a brace in the effort. The first Coe goal came via penalty kick in the 16th minute and their final tally came in the 87th minute.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST COE •••
Loras leads the all-time series against Coe at 15-4-1 and are winners of the last 15 meetings, dating back to 1999. All four of Coe's victories came between the 1997 and 1999 seasons where they owned a +15 goal differential and won four consecutive matches. Since, Loras has outscored Coe 65-6 and posted nine clean sheets.

SCOUTING THE NORSE •••
Loras will face their second 11-win team of the week on Saturday for Senior Day when they host Luther. Much like Coe, the Norse defense has been stingy all season, allowing a miniscule five goals in 12 contests. Melisse Chasse leads the Norse attack with eight goals and six assists, including five game-winners. In goal, Lauren Thormodsgard owns a .800 save percentage and a 0.42 goals against average

LAST TIME OUT AGAINST LUTHER •••
Loras and Luther met twice last season, with each team taking a victory. In the regular season, a free-kick goal from Katie Truesdale lifted the Duhawks to a 1-nil win in Decorah. When the two sides met in the first round of the Iowa Conference Tournament, it was Luther who came away victorious, winning 4-3 in extra time.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST LUTHER •••
Loras is 19-8-3 all-time versus Luther. Prior to the loss in the IIAC Tournament last season, the Duhawks had gone 15-0-1 in their previous 16 meetings against the Norse, dating back to 2005.

MILLS MAKING HER MARK•••
Freshman Elizabeth Mills is slowly making her mark on the women's soccer team. While a lot of spotlight has been shined on some seniors members of the roster, Mills has been improving her stats under the radar. The Brimfield, Illinois product is third in both goals (2) and shots (25). Furthermore, one of those goals was the game-winner needed to defeat Benedictine on Sept. 13. She is already posting impressive performances in her first year on the team and looks to have a bright career in her future at Loras.

WRIGHT PLACE, WRIGHT TIME •••
Entering into her sophomore year of college, Sydney Wright chose to forego her playing career at University of Illinois-Chicago to become a Duhawk. Since coming to Loras, Wright has been a key cog in the defensive midfield, starting in each of the Duhawks 12 contests. While she's netted just one goal and one assist on the season, it's what Wright has done off of the stat sheets that counts. What sets Wright apart from other athletes in the conference is her speed, which she uses in order to track down passes and opposing forwards. Her ability to get down field quickly has proven to be an asset to the Duhawks in 2015.

SCHUTZ SHINES AMONG DUHAWKS •••
Sophomore Gretchen Schutz is a new face to the Duhawks this season. The Lodi, Wisconsin product is making her mark on the women's soccer team. Schutz leads both the team and the Iowa Conference in assists (6) and is surely a great addition to the team this season. Schutz has one goal on the season, the game-winner against Saint Benedict. Schutz is a very versatile player with great speed, long throw-ins and spot-on corner kicks.

VUJOVIC NAMED D3 WOMEN'S SOCCER HERO OF THE WEEK •••
Senior Danielle Vujovic was named the herosports.com D3 Women's Soccer Gem of the Week on Sept. 23, 2015. In the Duhawks 2OT victory over Augustana last week, Vojovic tacked on a pair of goals which included the game-winner. On the season, the senior has recorded seven goals on 23 shots, which is good for a .304 shooting percentage and a .522 percentage when taking a shot on goal. In addition to her seven goals, the senior has also assisted on one to bring her seaosn points total to 15. Vujovic has bounced back after being injured last season and has provided the Duhawks with two game-winning goals.

SHOTS A PLENTY •••
Heading into Saturday's match-up with the Luther College Norse at the Rock Bowl, the Loras women's soccer team ranks first in the IIAC with 70 total shots in Iowa Conference play. The Duhawks have a 12 shot advantage over Luther, who comes in at second with a total of 58 shots taken per game. On average, the Duhawks are taking 23.33 shots per game, while the Norse are averaging 19.33. With shots being plentiful by the Duhawks, the hope is the many shots taken per game translate into more goals on the scoreboard.

TOUGH START TO CONFERENCE PLAY •••
The Duhawks have been a dominant force in the Iowa Conference, winning the regular season title nine times and the tournament 10 times since 2001. The start of the 2015 conference play, though, has not been so kind to Loras who are currently 1-1-1. The Duhawks started off with a strong 3-0 home win against Simpson, but then traveled to Central to take on the Dutch. Despite leading in shots on target 11-5, Loras couldn't find the touch to get out in front for the win, settling for a 1-1 draw. The struggles continued in Waverly, where again Loras led in shots on goal 12-10, but went home with a 3-1 setback. The Duhawks will have to start capitalizing on these chances if they want to regain their conference supremacy.

DUHAWKS PICKED TO FINISH FOURTH IN IIAC PRESEASON POLL •••
A year removed from coming off four straight Iowa Conference Championships, the Loras Women's Soccer team finds itself picked to finish fourth in this year's preseason poll, the IIAC announced on Thursday, Aug. 27.

ROTHERT BEGINS 18TH SEASON AT THE HELM •••
Head Coach Dan Rothert begins his 18th season as the skipper of the Loras Women's Soccer team, and brings with him a career record of 259-91-20, including nine IIAC Championships and 11 appearances in the NCAA Tournament. In combination with his form as the men's skipper, Rothert owns a total career record of 531-180-44.

FOLLOWING THE TREND •••
The last time Loras was picked to finish fourth in the IIAC preseason poll was 2010, following a season that saw the Duhawks bounced from the IIAC Tournament in penalties by University of Dubuque. The season that ensued saw Loras rattle off 14 straight contests without a loss. That team, which finished the season at 22-1-1, were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament on penalties against Otterbein.
