Tommies Upend No. 14 Duhawks

ST. PAUL, Minn. (Duhawks.com) - Two second half strikes from St. Thomas spoiled the interstate trip for the Loras men's soccer team, as the Tommies knocked off the 14th-ranked Duhawks, 2-1.

LORAS HIGHLIGHTS

| 73' | Johnny Rummelhart drew a foul just outside of the penalty area and Jorge Simon converted his fifth free kick goal of the season on the ensuing play.
| 81' | A broken play resulted in a scramble in the Loras penalty area. In an attempt to collect the loose ball, Loras goalkeeper Jacob Peterson was whistled for a foul, giving St. Thomas a penalty kick.

TURNING POINT
After Loras struck for the equalizer, a penalty kick awarded to St. Thomas in the 80th minute was converted, giving the Tommies the 2-1 lead with less than 10 minutes to play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first half, St. Thomas took the lead with a free kick by Miles Stockman Willis that was tucked into the upper-90 of the far post. Loras spent the next 20 minutes frantically searching for an equalizer, finally being rewarded in the 73rd minute.

The relief was short-lived for Loras as they conceded the go-ahead goal via penalty kick minutes later.

UP NEXT
The Duhawks return to the Rock Bowl for their final regular season home contest of 2015. They welcome UW-Platteville, who enter with an 8-3-3 form and winners over UW-Oshkosh.
