CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - Baseball split on day one of their weekend series with Coe College on Friday, winning game one 7-2 and dropping game two 10-5. Loras Head Coach
Carl Tebon won his 400th career game as the skipper of the Duhawks, becoming just the second active coach in the Iowa Conference to do so.

Adam Schwoebel toed the rubber for the Duhawks in game one looking to earn his fourth win of the season.
After a quiet first inning, Coe (8-6, 1-5) got their bats going in the second, plating two runs on three hits. Alec Zwanziger's single down the left field line drove in the only two runs of the game the Kohawks would manage.
Loras (9-6, 4-2) responded immediately, scoring two runs in the third on two hits. Junior
Lucas Jacque led off with a double down the left field line and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by sophomore
Nolan Ritter.
With Jacque on third, sophomore
Cole Reeg drove the 1-0 pitch over the right field wall to level the sides at two. The four-bagger was Reeg's first of the season.
Tied at two in the fifth, Loras benefited from four Coe errors, scoring five runs in the process on only three hits. On an 0-2 pitch, Reeg doubled down the left field line to bring home to begin the scoring party. By way of two more hits and a fielding error, Loras pushed across five runs to take the 7-2 lead.
The five-run gap was all that Schwoebel needed as he cruised through the final nine outs with relative ease to earn his fourth win of the year.

Looking to carry the momentum over from game one, the Duhawks started off game two with back-to-back singles. After a double play killed the momentum, Loras was unable to get on the board in the top of the first.
With senior
Will Petrosky on the mound, the Duhawks hoped that Friday would be a bounce back day for the Hanover Park native who has struggled with his control so far in the young season. Unfortunately for Petrosky, the control issues were present once again as he walked four batters in the first inning, but luckily escaped with just one run being scored.
Petrosky's day came to an end in the second inning after he walked two more batters. Tebon put the ball in the hands of freshman
Brad Schwind and right away he went to work.
Schwind's luck ran out in the fourth inning as he was tagged for five hits and four runs. The highlight of the inning for the Kohawks came off the bat of Jack Hoffman who homered to left center to make it 5-3 Coe.
Loras chipped away at Coe's lead in their next at-bat thanks to a leadoff double from junior
Patrick Walsh. After Jacque reached on an error, Kennedy hit an infield single, scoring Walsh from third.
The scoring subsided their, unfortunately as Coe escaped the inning without any further damage.
From the fourth inning on, Coe tallied at least one run in each inning, never allowing Loras an opportunity to relax. The constant feeling of playing from behind was too much to overcome as the Kohawks eventually stretched their lead to five.
Down to their final three outs, the Duhawks' rally fell short as the leadoff double from Kennedy was squandered at second, giving Coe the 10-5 win.
