PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (Duhawks.com) – The Duhawks continued on to a three-game win streak after they defeated UW-Platteville in a 4-2 victory on Wednesday night. Senior Danielle Vujovic had her second consecutive game with two goals (52' 53'), while senior Katie Truesdale tallied a brace of her own tonight with goals coming in the 48th and 60th minute.

Despite coming into the first half with an aggressive offense, the Duhawk shots slowed in the middle of the half and Loras struggled to find their grove. Junior Maria Siebels and the rest of the Duhawk defense worked together to limit the Pioneer's chances in the first half. Platteville only managed to put two of their eight shots on target, but a strike from Yamilex Jaramillo after a rebound off the crossbar snuck past Siebels to give the Pioneers the 1-nil lead.

In the 39th minute, Truesdale came within inches of equalizing for the Duhawks but was denied by the post. To close out the half, the Pioneers' Julie Divita peppered Siebels with two shots on frame, but the goalkeeper was up to the task to keep Platteville at bay.

Loras came out of the half time break looking to transition into a high tempo offense. They found their answer when Truesdale connected with sophomore Riley O'Neil to tie the game in the 48th minute. The Duhawks kept the pressure on and were rewarded minutes later thanks to goals from Vujovic in the 52nd and 53rd minutes.

Riley O'Neil finished out her outing with her third assist of the night when the sophomore met Truesdale from 30 yards out, who then headed it into the back of the net to establish the 4-1 lead.

With two games remaining this week, Loras utilized the depth of their bench as the game wore on. Despite trailing by three, the Pioneers refused to quit, evidence of Jaramillo's goal in the 62nd minute to cut the Loras lead to two.

The Duhawks return to the Rock Bowl this Saturday at 5 p.m. against Saint Benedict. The Blazers are currently 2-0-1 with both wins coming as clean sheets. In last year's matchup, Katie Truesdale saw the team's lone goal but the effort was not enough in the 3-1 defeat against the Blazers.
