GREENCASTLE, Ind. (Duhawks.com) – The Loras Women's Soccer team settled for a 2-2 draw on Saturday afternoon with DePauw. The Duhawks struck twice within eight minutes in the opening half, but an equalizer from the Tigers midway through the second leveled the match.
DePauw opened the scoring in the 11th minute on a goal from Stephanie Martin, putting Loras on high alert. It didn't take long for Loras to respond thanks to a strike from senior
Katie Truesdale in the 20th minute. Her tally gave the Duhawks the momentum they were looking for, resulting in the go-ahead goal from sophomore
Maura Walsh in the 28th minute. Walsh's tally came off an indirect free kick.
The Tigers opened the second half on a tear, coming close to scoring in the opening minute and again in the 53rd. Finally, in the 69th minute DePauw equalized to level the sides at two.
Loras was limited to two total shots in the second half and only put one on frame. The two overtime periods brought much of the same, with each team recording a save in the first overtime and no saves in the second overtime.
