PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (Duhawks.com) - The Loras wrestling team suffered its first dual loss of the season on Thursday against UW-Platteville, 30-13. Junior Jimmy Davis won by major decision at 157#, while freshman Clint Lembeck won by major decision at 141# and freshman Guy Patron Jr. won by tech fall at 197#.

WINNERS
141# | Clint Lembeck | Freshman | Marion, Iowa | MD 16-4 | 6-0
Trailing 12-0 after suffering a pair of pins at 125 and 133, Lembeck was charged with turning the tides for the Duhawks. The Xavier prep jumped out to a 10-1 lead in the first period with a pair of takedowns coupled with a four-point near fall and a two-point near fall. From there, Lembeck continued his dominance with two more takedowns in the second period, extending his lead to 14-3 over UW-Platteville's Alex Costello. A reversal to open the third period from Lembeck brought him within two points of the tech fall. In short time, Lembeck was unable to secure an additional take down, settling for the major decision.

157# | Jimmy Davis | Junior | Aurora, Ill. | MD 15-5 | 2-0
Like Lembeck, Davis raced out to a commanding lead in the opening period, scoring a pair of takedowns before adding a four-point near fall against Dustin Reynolds. After choosing to start down in the second, Davis added to his lead with an escape and another takedown, taking a 11-1 lead into the final frame. A late takedown from Reynolds helped the Pioneers avoid a tech fall, as Davis cruised to the 15-5 win.

197# | Guy Patron Jr. | Freshman | Harvey, La. | TF 18-3 | 5-0
With the dual already decided, Patron Jr. fired out of the gates like a cannon, dominating UW-Platteville's Austin Benton from the opening whistle. With ease, the Jesuit prep controlled the bout in its entirety, conceding three points in total via escape. Showing no signs of remorse, Patron Jr. continued to inflict his aggressive nature on Benton with four takedowns, a reversal and a four-point near fall over the final four minutes, securing the tech fall at 18-3.
