Davis made a statement on Saturday with his performances, winning all three bouts by major decision, including a 14-4 win over top-ranked Grant Parker of Augsburg. Davis extended his winning streak to five this season on Saturday and has four wins by major decision. Against Parker, Davis did most of his damage in the final period, taking what was a 4-3 lead and extending it to 14-4 thanks to two takedowns, a four-point near fall and riding time. The junior from Aurora, Ill. became the second Duhawk this season to upset a No. 1 wrestler, joining freshman Eddie Smith, who defeated Logan Hermsen of UW-Stevens Point.

In place of freshman Guy Patron Jr., Soto shined in the spotlight, winning both matches on Saturday. Against Augsburg's Logan Hortop, Soto was in control for nearly the entirety of the match and made certain of it with a reversal in the third period, winning by a 7-1 margin. Later, against Adam Gusky of UW-La Crosse, Soto released his strength on top, ripping off 21 points for a tech fall.
