DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - After a week away from the Rock Bowl, the Loras women's lacrosse returned home hoping to capture a win over cross-town rival University of Dubuque. A dominant second half by the Spartans cemented the win for the away side, outscoring the Duhawks 9–1 in the final 30 minutes. Junior

LORAS HIGHLIGHTS
- The Duhawks fell into a hole early, conceding two Spartan goals in the opening three minutes of play.Â
- Senior Kaitlyn Kutsch found sophomore Sarah Hanson for a clean connection in the scoring lane with 25:31 remaining in the first half.
- Taking their time moving the ball around, Dubuque struck again, doubling their lead at 3–1.
- Less than a minute later, junior Hannah Nelson recorded her sixth assist of the season, setting up Hanson for her second goal of the evening.
- The Spartans established their offensive pace, scoring four unanswered goals to extend their lead to 8–2 with 10:17 to play in the first half.Â
- A pair of rapid fire goals from Kutsch within a 17-second window prompted a timeout from Dubuque.
- Despite the Duhawk's attempt to stymie the Spartan attack, Dubuque pushed their total to double-digits, scoring with 23 seconds left in the half to send the game to the halftime break with the Spartans in front, 10–4.
- Dubuque kept its foot on the gas pedal, opening the second half on a 7–0 run to extend its lead to 14.
- Loras ended its scoring draught with Kutsch's second strike of the night and 41st of the season with 4:15 left in the game.Â
- The Spartans made a final statement as the clock ticked down, scoring with three seconds remaining to bring the final margin to 19–5.Â
