Men's Basketball Responds on the Road

WAUKESHA, Wis. (Duhawks.com) - The Loras men's basketball kicked off its holiday break on Sunday afternoon with a 94-85 win over Carroll. The trio of juniors Josh Ruggles, Ryan DiCanio and sophomore Jordon Kedrowski accounted for 61 points and eight assists.

- Loras takes over the series lead and has now won the last two meetings versus Carroll

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
- Carroll's Tyler Ingebrightsen registered eight of the first 10 points for Carroll … His 10th point came at the 12:15 mark and was the last time the Pioneers led in the game
- After nearly two full years, Kedrowski made his return to the hardwood and made his presence felt immediately, assisting on a bucket by sophomore Udo Agomo 40 seconds after entering the game
- Loras grabbed its first double-digit lead following a 13-2 run that featured five of Kedrowski's 10 points on the night
- At the 5:48 mark, Carroll switched to 1-3-1 zone and crafted an 8-0 run that cut the Duhawks' lead to five at 35-30 with 3:30 to play in the first half
- Three free-throws by DiCanio and Ruggles kickstarted a 14-5 run for Loras that extended its lead to 16 following a layup by senior Justin Busch

- DiCanio continued his trek towards 1,000 points and now stands at 823 … Additionally, he needs 115 rebounds to reach 500 for his career

- DiCanio recorded his second double-double of the season and eighth of his career … Thirteen of his 22 points came in the second half, partially in part to his repeated trips to the free-throw line

- Loras returns to Lillis Court for the first time in 17 days since hosting Luther on Dec. 2 for a non-conference tilt against Blackburn. The Beavers enter with a 5-2 and are coming off an 88-85 loss to Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday. Tip-off from inside the Athletic & Wellness Center is set for 7 p.m.
