Women's Basketball Grinds Out Road Win at Luther

DECORAH, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's basketball team recorded its third consecutive victory with a 71-63 win over Luther. Junior Hannah Stokes and freshman Marissa Schroeder led the Duhawks with 13 points each as Stokes shot 75 percent from the field.

- Luther maintains a 36-26 series advantage … Loras' win on Saturday was the first in the last three meetings

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
- The Duhawks held the largest lead by either team in the first half after a 3-pointer by senior Miranda Chapman with 2:11 remaining in the second quarter made it 30-25
- Neither side led by more than three points in the third quarter with momentum shifting from team to team
- A pair of free-throws by Chapman resulted in Loras' largest lead of the game at 65-55 with 58 seconds to play in the fourth quarter

TEAM NOTABLES
- After saturday's game, the Duhawks jumped to fifth place in the Iowa Conference
- Loras dominated with second chance points, 14-3
- Saturday was the best shooting performance of the season by the Duhawks, finishing at 52.2 percent from the floor … Loras is 6-1 when shooting better than 45 percent
