Duhawks Dismantle Spartan Guard in A-R-C Lid-Lifter

DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Duhawks exploded out of the gate in their rivalry matchup against Dubuque, dropping 59 first half points. The Duhawks spread the wealth as four players finished the night with double-digit points, on their way to the 93-71 win.
 
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• Duhawks utilized an 18-1 run through the first six minutes of the quarter to take an early 15-point lead … Loras forced five straight turnovers during this stretch
• Three minutes into the second quarter, Kari Fitzpatrick, Hannah Stokes and Macenzie Kraemer all had double-digit points.
• Loras knocked down seven first half 3-pointers and held the Spartans to 1-of-5 from beyond the arc
• With seconds remaining on the clock, Fitzpatrick swished a 3-pointer and then hit two free-throws to extend the Duhawk lead to 36 at the end of three
• Loras' offense slowed considerably in the fourth quarter, settling for 11 point
• The Spartan offense came to life in the final frame, putting 25 points on the board on 8-of-15 shooting

• Kraemer was the glue of the Duhawk defense finishing the night with a +30 plus-minus rating … Defensively, she finished with a career-high four steals
• Stokes' 15 points earned the senior a career-high, finishing 6-of-9 on the floor
• Fitzpatrick finished with a career-best three 3-pointers
• Courtney Schnoor recorded a season-high eight rebounds to go along with her eight points
• Loras scored 32 points of Spartan turnovers
• The Duhawks held the lead for 37:41 … Dubuque did not have a lead during the game
• Loras owned a 42-35 advantage on the glass, including a 27-11 advantage on offense

The Duhawks return home for their second American Rivers Conference contest of the year as they welcome Buena Vista to town on Saturday. The Beavers are currently 3-4 and are coming off an 86-56 loss to Coe on Wednesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
