O'Brien's Winner Sends Duhawks to NCAA Tournament

DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - For the 14th time in program history, the Loras women's soccer team is heading back to the NCAA Championships following a 3-2 win over Wartburg on Saturday night. Ryleigh O'Brien completed the comeback effort with her goal in the 78th minute while Jenny Wick finished with three assists.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• Jenny Wick's corner kick to Emily Perhats in the 39th minute put the Duhawks ahead in the first half … Minutes later, Wartburg equalized to send the teams into the halftime break level
• The Knight's took the lead on a goal in the 58th minute and held that lead for 14 minutes before Elizabeth Mills netted her third of the season from inside the six
• Loras regained its lead in the 78th minute after Wick served a pass over the Wartburg backline for O'Brien to run onto and the freshman drilled home the winner for her ninth goal of the season

NOTABLES
• Wick's three assists is the most in a single match since Maura Walsh recorded three on Oct. 22, 2016 at Simpson … Saturday marked the third time since 2014 that a Loras player has registered three assists in a single match … Katie Ryan holds the all-time program record with five assists, coming against Coe on Oct. 28, 2006
• With the win, Loras advances to the NCAA Tournament for the 14th time in program history with its 13th conference tournament championship
• The Duhawks secured the double (regular season and tournament championship) for the 10th time in school history
• Loras' 13 conference tournament championships is 10 more than the next school in the league (Luther-3)
