Duhawks Motor Past Storm

DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's basketball team ended its regular season home schedule on a high note, defeating Simpson 86-69 on Wednesday night. Marissa Schroeder tallied her fifth double-double of the season with a game-high 21 points while Riley Eckhart netted a career-high 18 points.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
- The Duhawks started off hot with a 13-5 lead off of two 3-pointers by Miranda Chapman
- Riley Eckhart made her presence felt off the bench, recording five points, two rebounds, two assists and a block, all in the final 5:00 of the first quarter
- Simpson took its first lead of the game thanks to an 8-0 run over 2:02 of gameplay beginning at the :48 mark of the first quarter
- Loras closed the half on a 14-5 run with 12 points split evenly between Marissa Schroeder, Lauren Stanich and Cyerra Hutchins … During the 7:19 stretch, the Storm were held to 2-of-10 shooting
- Schroeder pushed the Duhawks ahead, adding eight points in the first five minutes of the third quarter

UP NEXT
The Duhawks make their way cross town to the University of Dubuque on Saturday, for the conclusion of regular season play. On Wednesday, the Spartans fell to Luther, 95-74, and were eliminated from postseason contention. Tip-off scheduled for 2 p.m. from inside the Stoltz Sports Center.
