Men's Volleyball Swept by Eagles

DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras men's volleyball team dropped a three-set match to ninth-ranked Benedictine on Thursday night, falling to 8-6 this season. Mihajlo Gomez finished with six kills while Blair Anderson turned in a team-high seven digs.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Set One
- The Eagles jumped out to an early lead at 9-3 and proceeded to rattle off 10 of the next 14 points to take a commanding 19-7 lead ... Of the 10 points Benedictine scored, three came via kills with seven coming via errors by the Duhawks

Set Two
- Both sides traded blows back-and-forth with Loras opening a two-point lead at 22-20, but the Eagles responded after an out of rotation call to score the next five points and take the second set, 25-22

Set Three
- The Duhawks kept matters close early in set three, but a 13-4 run by Benedictine opened a 22-11 lead for the Eagles
- Thursday's match came to a close with Loras scoring three consecutive points, followed by Benedictine scoring the final three to win, 25-14

- Anderson elevated his career dig total to 489
- Jake Chudzik finished with three kills and needs two to reach 100 for his career
