CLERMONT, Fla. (Duhawks.com) - The Loras softball team ended its spring break trip in Florida on Thursday with a split, defeating Mt. St. Vincent, 7-1, and falling to St. Thomas, 3-2.
Hannah Towns and
Hadalyn Anderson each recorded three hits while Towns drove in two runs.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED - MT. ST. VINCENT
-Loras was held scoreless until the fourth when Towns singled and was then knocked in thanks to an RBI double by

-The following inning, back-to-back RBI doubles by
Shannon Coyle and Towns gave the Duhawks a 4-0 lead
-In the sixth, a pair of singles by
Melanie Gerbig and Anderson later scored adding another two runs giving Loras a 6-1 lead

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED - ST. THOMAS
-St. Thomas started the scoring in the top of the third as they picked up the first run of the game off an RBI single
-The Duhawks got the run back in the bottom half of the third on a bunt from

-Loras secured the lead after an RBI single by Towns in the fourth, 2-1
-In the seventh, the Tommies retook the lead off a two-RBI single, 3-2
