ELMHURST, Ill. (Duhawks.com) - It didn't take long for the Loras men's soccer team to flex its muscle, scoring in the third minute of Friday night's season opener at Elmhurst.
Manny Lopez tallied the match-winner for the Duhawks,
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
- Loras peppered the Bluejays' keeper with four shots on target in the first 15 minutes, included Lopez goal as well as a near-goal by
Javi Simon that was cleared off the goal line
- The Duhawks earned a sequence of four corner kicks in under three minutes inside of the 30-minute mark, but were unable to push across an insurance goal

Mark Broderick jumped on a loose ball inside the 18 and narrowly was bested by the Elmhurst keeper less than two minutes into the second half
- Five more corner kicks went the way of the Duhawks from the 47th minute until the 53rd minute, but once again Loras was unable to add to its one-goal lead
