WAUKESHA, Wis. (Duhawks.com) - For 89 minutes and 59 seconds on Sunday, the Loras women's soccer team was held in check offensively, but with one second remaining in regulation, Jenny Wick fought her way to get onto the end of a Gretchen Schutz corner kick to force extra time. Ryleigh O'Brien redirected a cross from Kiki Cabrera in extra time, sending the Duhawks to victory.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• With their second match in as many days, coupled with the elevated temperature, the Duhawks got off to a slow start on Sunday, with Carroll owning a majority of the possession in the first 15 minutes
• Once Loras settled in, chances began to develop, with Cabrera recording the first shot on target in the 22nd minute
• The second half opened in much more of the style that the Duhawks had hoped for from the beginning, totaling six corner kicks in the first 15 minutes … The Pioneers' first shot of the second half came in the 68th minute following their second corner kick
• Late in the half, Carroll began to regain the momentum after a shot clanged off the post in the 80th minute and then back-to-back corner kicks in the 81st and 82nd minute
• A Loras foul in the 83rd minute at midfield appeared to be in a safe location, but the Pioneers placed the free kick in a perfect location to beat Coble to the crossbar for the first goal of the match
• With defeat staring them in the eyes, the Duhawks went from 0-60 in a matter of seconds, but solid Carroll defense prevented Loras from a multitude of chances
• In a last ditch effort, the Duhawks threw numbers forward and earned a corner kick in the last 10 seconds of regulation … From the corner flag, Schutz delivered a perfect ball to the back post where Wick was left unmarked to head in the equalizer with one second remaining
• After a pretty tame first period of extra time, the quick two minute breather was all Loras needed as Taylor Trovato sent Cabrera across the pitch to the corner flag and after beating her defender, Cabrera served it to the near post for O'Brien to redirect 

NOTABLES
• After a quiet start to her season in which she was held to two shots in her first four matches, O'Brien has netted four goals and an assist in the last seven days in Loras' wins over Millikin, Wisconsin Lutheran and Carroll … Her goal on Sunday was the first match-winner in her career
• Kaylee Coble needs two saves to reach 100 for her career … With the win on Sunday, Coble improved to 20-4-3 in her time at Loras
• With an assist on the buzzer-beater at the end of regulation, Schutz kept her points per game average above 1.00, as she currently has 67 points in 65 games(1.03ppg) … With 33 assists in her career, Schutz now ranks third all-time in program history, needing two to slide into second behind Michelle Wieser, who ranks first with 53 assists
• Loras improved to 4-0-0 all-time against Carroll

A quick turnaround presents itself once again for Loras as they host North Central on Tuesday. The Cardinals enter Tuesday's contest with a 4-2-0 record, suffering a loss their last time out against Nebraska Wesleyan, 3-2. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
