LAKE FOREST, Ill. (Duhawks.com) - Following a 3-0 win against St. John Fisher on Friday, the Loras women's volleyball team continued its tear through the Forester Invitational with a 3-2 win over Lake Forest followed by a 3-0 sweep of Manchester to put the Duhawks at 3-0 to open the year. Michelle Budden led the Duhawks with 17 kills in the two matches and Paige Griffith finished off with 61 assists in the matches.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• On Friday, Loras opened its second match of the night with a 5-1 lead and held that advantage until late in the frame when Lake Forest tallied four out of five points to win the opening frame, 25-23
• The Duhawks stormed back to win the second set, 25-19 … Kayla Kinney registered four kills to lead the balanced Loras attack
• Trailing 18-17 in the third set, the Duhawks scored eight of the last nine points, blitzing the Foresters to a 2-1 match lead
• In the final set on Friday, Lake Forest held an 18-9 lead before a leak in the roof delayed the conclusion of the match to Saturday morning
• Loras fought back to a five-point deficit at 23-18 before the Foresters pushed the match to a fifth set, winning the fourth, 25-19
• With an 11-10 lead in the fifth, the Duhawks ripped off four of the last five points, which included two kills from Kelly Boge, winning 15-11
• Loras built an 18-12 lead in the opening frame before extending its lead to 22-12 .. Michelle Budden's kill combined with a ball handling error gave the Duhawks the set at 25-15
• Trailing 9-8 in the second set, rattled off 10 straight points to take a commanding 18-9 lead … A 6-1 run closed out the frame and pushed Loras to a 2-0 match lead
• Manchester leveled at 22-all in the third set before a Duhawk timeout … After the break, a pair of kills by Jackie Alberto coupled with a bad set earned Loras the match sweep

NOTABLES
• Paige Griffith continues to pile on the assists boosting her career assist total to 442
• Kayla Kinney added on 18 kills in the two games increasing her career kills total from 197 to 215.

FRIEDMAN GROUP PLAYER OF THE GAME - KELLY BOGE
• The junior middle blocker led the Duhawks defense with six blocks in the 3-2 victory over Lake Forest. Boge also played a major role in the offensive attack earning herself 10 kills with a .382 kill percentage. 

FRIEDMAN GROUP PLAYER OF THE GAME- PAGE GRIFFITH
• Following a 37 assist performance against Lake Forest, Griffith came out stron again setting up her teammates for 24 kills. In the two game stretch Griffith was responsible for 61 assists.

• The Duhawks host UW-Platteville on Wednesday, with first serve scheduled at 7 p.m. The Pioneers come to town holding a 2-2 record after losing their last two matches to Depauw and Minnsota-Morris.
