LAKE FOREST, Ill. (Duhawks.com) - Following a 3-0 win against St. John Fisher on Friday, the Loras women's volleyball team continued its tear through the Forester Invitational with a 3-2 win over Lake Forest followed by a 3-0 sweep of Manchester to put the Duhawks at 3-0 to open the year.
Michelle Budden led the Duhawks with 17 kills in the two matches and
Paige Griffith finished off with 61 assists in the matches.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• On Friday, Loras opened its second match of the night with a 5-1 lead and held that advantage until late in the frame when Lake Forest tallied four out of five points to win the opening frame, 25-23

Kayla Kinney registered four kills to lead the balanced Loras attack
• Trailing 18-17 in the third set, the Duhawks scored eight of the last nine points, blitzing the Foresters to a 2-1 match lead
• In the final set on Friday, Lake Forest held an 18-9 lead before a leak in the roof delayed the conclusion of the match to Saturday morning
• Loras fought back to a five-point deficit at 23-18 before the Foresters pushed the match to a fifth set, winning the fourth, 25-19
• With an 11-10 lead in the fifth, the Duhawks ripped off four of the last five points, which included two kills from
Kelly Boge, winning 15-11

• The junior middle blocker led the Duhawks defense with six blocks in the 3-2 victory over Lake Forest. Boge also played a major role in the offensive attack earning herself 10 kills with a .382 kill percentage.Â

• Following a 37 assist performance against Lake Forest, Griffith came out stron again setting up her teammates for 24 kills. In the two game stretch Griffith was responsible for 61 assists.Â
