DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's volleyball team rallied from a 1-0 deficit on Wednesday night against UW-Platteville to win in four, 17-25, 25-17, 25-13, 25-11.
Kelly Boge,
Jenna LaCorte and
Kayla Kinney all registered 10 kills to lead the offensive attack while
Paige Griffith recorded a double-double with 31 assists and 12 digs.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• Level at 4-all in the first set, the Pioneers stole the momentum inside the Athletic & Wellness Center with a 17-9 run, fueled in part by five kills from Katie Asche
• As a team, Loras hit-.054in the opening frame, committing seven errors compared to five kills
• Fortunately, the slow start was quick to disappear, as the Duhawks roared back with 13 kills in the second set, including five by Boge … As a team, Loras hit .320
• The Duhawks didn't stop there and continued the offensive onslaught in the third set, connecting for 12 kills on 20 attempts to hit .500 …
Kayla Kinney finished with four kills in the set while LaCorte and
Michelle Budden each had three
• In the fourth set, UW-Platteville could do little to slow down LaCorte and Kinney, who combined for nine of Loras' 14 kills in the frame … The Duhawks also combined to record a match-high 20 digs, with six players contributing to the total
