Duhawks Make History

STORM LAKE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's basketball team etched its name into history on Monday, recording its 11th consecutive victory thanks to a 104-53 shellacking on the road at Buena Vista. Kari Fitzpatrick led the Duhawks with 25 points, highlighted by her 23 in the first half. f which came in the first half.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• The Duhawks wasted no time lighting up the scoreboard, scoring 32 first quarter points on 11-of-13 shooting.
• After taking a 22-9 lead, Loras shut down the Beavers and held them scoreless for the remaining six minutes of the quarter.
• Buena Vista had no answer for Fitzpatrick who dropped 23 of her 25 points in the first 20 minutes
• The Duhawks forced 23 first half turnovers leading to 30 points off those turnovers
• Riley Eckhart scored nine of her 18 points in the third quarter on 3-of-3 shooting from deep
• Just like earlier in the game, Loras rattled off another big 9-0 run on the back of Marissa Schroeder's layup to start the fourth quarter giving them a 50-point lead
 
NOTABLES
• The Duhawks shot a season high from the floor(67.2percent) and from distance(72.2percent) 
•Loras assisted on 29 of their 41 field goals … The Duhawks forced a season high 37 turnovers while recording 26 steals
•Macenzie Kraemer posted a career-high 12 assists, finishing with a double-double, the first of her career
• Taylor Brooks totaled a career-best five assists
• Loras improved to 36-27 all time versus Buena Vista 
 
UP NEXT

The Duhawks hit the road again on Wednesday when they travel to No. 18 Wartburg. In this season's first meeting, the Knights handed the Duhawks a 76-64 setback. Tip-off from Waverly is scheduled for 6 p.m.
