Duhawks Back in the Win Column

DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - After having its 11-game win streak snapped on Wednesday, the Loras women's basketball team moved back into the win column with a 83-70 win over Nebraska Wesleyan. The Duhawk offense came alive in the second half, to the tune of 48 points.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• In honor of senior day, the five Duhawk seniors all started together for the first time in their careers
• Nebraska Wesleyan opened the second quarter on a 10-2 run, extending their lead to five at the 8:00 mark.
• After trailing for the first portion of the second half, Riley Eckhart finished a put-back for her 12th point, giving Loras the lead
• Marissa Schroeder scored 11 of her game-high 19 points in the third quarter
• The Prairie Wolves tied the score at 60-all just before the start of the fourth quarter, but a 14-3 run, sparked by Kari Fitzpatrick's layup, helped the Duhawks open a gap down the homestretch
• Loras shot 62.5 percent in the second half compared to their 40.6 percent in the first half to come away with the win

• Kari Fitzpatrick recorded a double-double with 11 rebounds and 10 assists… Saturday marked her fifth of the season
• The Duhawks dominated the glass hauling in 43 rebounds to Nebraska Wesleyan's 20 … Of Loras' 43 rebounds, 17 were offensive
• Loras recorded assists on 21 of its 33 made field goals
• Loras scored 54 of their 70 points in the paint
