Oct. 12, 2019 - The Loras College women's volleyball team traveled to Lincoln, Neb., to face American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) opponent Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday, Oct. 12. The Duhawks defeated the Prairie Wolves in five sets (22-25, 25-23, 14-25, 25-20, 15-8) to move to 17-5 on the season.
Jackie Alberto led the Duhawks with a .379 attacking percentage and 16 total kills.
Kendra Cave followed with 14 kills, while
Kayla Kinney finished with 11 on the night. Loras led in kills (67-52), blocks (11-9), and digs (99-94). Â
The Prairie Wolves won the opening set 25-22. Loras bounced back and took the second set 25-23 after an attacking error from a Nebraska Wesleyan attacker and a kill from
Kendra Cave.Â
Nebraska Wesleyan closed the third set on a four point run to win 25-14. Loras
Moira Mixan set up the match point in the fourth set. Cave closed the set with a big kills to force a fifth set.Â
The Duhawks early three point run set up Loras to close the match and final set 15-10 to earn their seventh A-R-C victory.Â
Loras returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 9., as they host Wartburg College for more A-R-C action. First serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.Â
