November 16, 2019 - The Loras College men's basketball team improved to 3-0 after defeating the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons 85-65 on Saturday night in the Athletic & Wellness Center.
Rowan McGowen led the Duhawks with 25 points, while
Cole Navigato and
Jordan Boyd followed closely behind with 18 and 15 points. Navigato and Boyd were perfect from the free-throw line combining for eight as the Duhawks finished with a 73.3 percentage.
Loras went up early scoring six unanswered points at the start of the first half. Following a 7-0 run Concordia Wis. took the lead for the first time with just under ten minutes remaining in the half. The Duhawks closed out the first half on a 6-0 run but the Falcons held remained ahead 36-34 at the break.
The second half remained scoreless through the first two minutes of play until Boyd made a jumper to tie it at 36-36. Loras forced a timeout after a layup by McGowen sparked an 11-0 run to push the Duhawk lead to 54-45.
Loras ended the game on a 9-0 run and Boyd slammed the final basket home to give the Duhawks the 85-65 victory.
The Duhawks will return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 20., against Augustana. First tip is scheduled for 7 p.m.
