PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (November 9, 2019) - The Loras College wrestling team traveled just across the border to Platteville, Wis., to compete at the Super 8 Invitational. Mason McMillen (133#), Baylor Crigger (165#), and Guy Patron Jr. (197#), were champions for the Duhawks.

In addition to the three gold medalist, the Duhawks placed six others in the top-three at Saturday's meet. Matt Randone (125#), Kirk Mommsen (174#), Shane Liegel (184#), and  Wyatt Wriedt (285#) claimed silver medals, while Zeke Smith (133#) and Slade Sifuentes (285#) brought home bronze. 

McMillen defeated Ian Mullen of North Central College 8-5 in his final bout of the day to earn his first title of the season. Baylor Crigger made the most of his first time in the Duhawk singlet defeating Will Britain of University of Chicago 4-3 to land the gold. 

No. 3 Patron Jr. won by decision over Ben Bergen of North Central 3-1 to claim his first gold medal of the 2019-20 season.

The Duhawks will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Luther College Open. The meet is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
