DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras men's volleyball team rallied after a slow start on Friday night against Greenville to win in four sets to open league play. Mihajlo Gomez delivered four of the Duhawks' seven service aces while adding 12 kills.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• Tied at 2-all, Gomez sent a liner at the Panthers for his first service ace of the evening
• Trailing 23-21, Greenville closed the set out on a 5-1 run to take the first frame, 26-24
• Loras fell behind early in the second set but it was Leo Peters who finished the Alfredo Lopez feed to tie things up at 10
• Just like the Panthers did to them in the first set, Loras went on a 6-1 rally to close out the second set 25-23, tying things up at 1-1
• The third set saw 15 ties until Gomez finessed home another service ace to give Loras the final lead of the set at 19-18
• Jonathan Quinn subbed into the game late in the set and immediately made an impact with a service ace to push Loras' lead to three
• Lopez found a soaring Andres Martinez who powered home the 25th point to give Loras the 2-1 advantage heading into set number four
• Trailing 2-1 to start the fourth set, Lopez fed Peters for back-to-back hammers, shifting the lead and momentum in Loras' favor
• Two points away from victory, Jake Chudzik and Martinez emphatically rejected the Panther attack, stifling any hope of a Greenville comeback

• Lopez has recorded 50-plus assists in each of the last three matches
• Gomez was one ace shy of tying his season-high of five
